Dan Swanson specializes in the sale of multifamily assets primarily located in core Seattle markets. Within the past 36 months, Dan has closed 63 transactions worth over $205 million. Dan focuses on the exclusive representation of owners in dispositions, of selected buyers in property acquisitions, and 1031 exchanges. Consultation services are also provided for asset valuation, as well as cash flow and alternative investment analyses.
Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Dan was a vice president of investments for 15 years with Marcus & Millichap where he closed over 180 transactions representing over 280 million dollars in sales.
Dan graduated from the Washington State University Honors College with a B.A. in business administration. Also, he has a dual emphasis in accounting and finance.
Starting in 2000, Dan bought and sold a handful of properties, beginning with four-plexes and single family residences. He completed 1031 exchanges into his current properties. The assets include apartment buildings on Capitol Hill and a mixed-use building in the Central District, which are all professionally managed. He has been a member of RHA since 2000.
In 2004, Dan married Alexandra Larson, a lifelong Seattle resident and Gonzaga graduate. They moved from the Bryant neighborhood near the University of Washington to the Capitol Hill neighborhood where they are raising their three sons, aged seven, ten, and twelve. In his free time Dan likes to spend time with his family and enjoy the city and all it offers. He and his family enjoy its parks and beaches, transit system, rides on the Monorail, and the Link Light Rail. In addition, particularly on 90 degree summer weekends, Dan and his family enjoy their beach cabin in Coupeville on Whidbey Island.
Dan and his family are also active at Union Church in South Lake Union and are members of the Seattle Tennis Club. Dan is also affiliated with the Union Gospel Mission and DADS organizations.
