Meriden Markham Airport, Meriden, CT - The set of pictures consists of work we are just completing at Meriden Markham Airport, such work that we performed on a Design-Build basis. This project consisted of building 5 brand new pre-fabricated/engineered airplane hangars, thereby providing 26 separate airplane storage units for varying size planes, from Cessna to small private jets. Location Description
The City of Meriden owns and operates the Meriden-Markham Municipal
Airport (MMK) located in the southern portion of the city convenient to
major metropolitan areas of central Connecticut. The airport officially
dates back to as early as 1928 when Ernest Markham was named the 1st
airport manager. On July 14, 1962 the airport was renamed in honor of
Ernest L. Markham for his 32 years of dedicated service.
The Airport accommodates single-engine and light twin-engine aircraft
operated for business and pleasure use. Key facilities and services include:
• Runway 18-36 (3,100' x 75')
• Pilot controlled runway & taxiway edge lighting
• PAPI-4 and REILS
• GPS and VOR approaches
• On field ASOS
• Full parallel taxiway
• Terminal building
• Aircraft tiedown and hangar storage
• Aircraft self service fueling (100LL avgas with the lowest prices in the area)
• Aircraft maintenance provided by Mustang Aviation
• Flight instruction, rentals & ground school. Meriden Aviation Center
