Windsor Stevens to Develop New TOD Condo Community in Chamblee Mixed-Use Development, The Gordon, Will Connect to Chamblee MARTA Station on Rail Trail. Rod Mullice, managing partner for Windsor Stevens Holdings LLC, announces plans for The Gordon, a 56-unit, three building, mixed-use condominium development at 3543 and 3553 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Chamblee GA. Just a quarter-mile from the Chamblee MARTA Station, connected by the planned Rail Trail extension, The Gordon will include 7,500 square feet of retail space and a 2,000-square-foot rooftop amenity space. The Gordon is the latest property in Windsor Stevens’ strategic focus on transit-oriented development (TOD).
“The Gordon continues our focus on walkability, high-tech amenities and attractive, efficient modern design, the combination of characteristics we call The Connected Lifestyle,” Mullice said.
“Our design team -Niles Bolton Associates, Ymani Tannis with WB Interiors, and Eberly and Associates -truly understands the needs and tastes of today’s professionals. The Gordon will reflect their preferences along with the architectural requirements of the Chamblee Master Plan.” With The Gordon, Windsor Stevens is following the goals and design principles laid out in Chamblee’s recently established Downtown Chamblee Town Center Plan, created by the City of Chamblee, the Downtown Development Authority and Bob Voyles of Seven Oaks Company. The condo community will consist of three buildings, four stories each, on 1.3 acres with street-level retail space in two of the buildings. In addition to parking for each residence, the site will include an amenity terrace and a breezeway connecting buildings 200 and 300. The site plan also calls for appropriate landscaping along with outdoor patios that enhance the retail spaces and connect them to pedestrians walking on the Rail Trail.
The Gordon’s convenient Downtown Chamblee location will offer fast, easy access to numerous Metro Atlanta job centers including Century Center, Sandy Springs, and the Perimeter CIDs as well as Buckhead, Midtown and Downtown via MARTA. Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson said this development reflects the city’s decades of work to sustain its charm and economic vitality.
“The City of Chamblee has been working for almost two decades to create a more connected, walkable community. Many of our efforts have been spent planning the area within a mile of the Chamblee MARTA rail station,” Clarkson said.“We are very excited to have a new owner-occupied, multi-family, mixed use project such as The Gordon coming into our town center. Windsor Stevens has demonstrated their desire to build attractive, efficient, high-tech properties that offer easy access to transit in other communities and we look forward to working with them to bring a similar product to Chamblee.”
